A new service, Lapathoniia Chat, has been unveiled in Ukraine, operating on the De Novo cloud infrastructure, which ensures that all user data is stored exclusively within the country’s territory without involving foreign servers. This project serves as a demonstration platform that facilitates a comprehensive evaluation of the potential of domestic large language models (LLMs) in dialogue-based formats.
Developers highlight that the most effective assessment of a language model is through real-time interaction rather than relying solely on numerical benchmarks. Currently, the service offers capabilities such as file handling, web searches, model memory processing, and execution of complex analytical tasks.
Lapathoniia boasts multiple advantages: API compatibility with OpenAI, configurable base URLs for seamless integration with OpenAI SDK, optimization for the Ukrainian language tailored to specific queries and products, support for Streaming data generation for interactive applications, management of access through API keys, cost limits, multi-user integrations, processing of up to 32,000 tokens per request including input context and response, and hosting the beta service’s infrastructure and data exclusively within Ukraine.
Users currently have access to two Ukrainian language models: MamayLM and Lapa LLM, with plans to expand the offering. The project is executed in collaboration with the Department of Artificial Intelligence Systems at the National University’ Lviv Polytechnic’. Representatives from the university emphasized the importance of advancing Ukrainian AI technologies to foster a national technological ecosystem and develop solutions tailored to the Ukrainian market.
The service is presently undergoing closed beta testing, during which the team is collecting feedback on operation speed, context processing quality, and interface usability. Interested parties should submit a brief description of their proposed tasks and company name to the developers’ contact email to request access.
