Last year, Ukraine was among the four countries most closely followed in the world

In 2023, Ukraine became the fourth most followed country in the world. Last year, Ukraine ranked 44th out of 193 in the Global Soft Power Index. Compared to 2022, our country has dropped seven positions.

“While in 2022 Ukraine demonstrated an unprecedented increase in the assessment of its soft power, rising 14 positions to 37th place in the ranking, 2023 our performance fell slightly. For example, in the second year of full-scale war, our overall soft power score dropped by 1.2 points, causing Ukraine to fall back to the 44th position in the index. Despite this, Ukraine has maintained its global visibility, becoming the 16th most recognizable country in the world,” the release said.

Among Ukraine’s achievements in 2023 are significant successes in media and communications. Our country moved up 14 positions in this parameter, reaching 31st place in the ranking. In addition, we became the fourth most followed country in the world. We ranked 23rd in terms of influence in the international arena.

At the same time, Ukraine’s reputation during the year of the Great War returned to the level of 2021. In particular, lower scores were received in Business and Trade, Cultural Heritage, Governance, Education and Science, and People and Values.
