Ukraine’s representative at the Eurovision Song Contest 2024, singer and songwriter Jerry Heil has become a member of the American Recording Academy and has been granted the right to vote for the winners of one of the world’s most prestigious music awards, the Grammy Awards. In addition, she now also has the opportunity to nominate herself for this prestigious award.
Jerry Heil announced this on her social media:
“I am now a member of the GRAMMY Academy! To be able to submit a track for an award, you have to go through verification, filling out countless pages, indicating your education and achievements. I started this process in the winter and had to wait until July for a response. I waited another month to share the good news with you: the verification was successful, and the next step is easy to predict,” the singer said.

The Grammy Awards, presented annually by the Recording Academy of America, are considered the most famous and prestigious award in the modern music industry, comparable in influence to the Oscars in cinema.
The winners are determined by a vote of the Academy’s authorized members, including artists, producers and musicians. Jerry Heil joined the exclusive club of Academy members who have the right to vote and became one of the few Ukrainian women who will be able to influence the choice of Grammy winners.
