In Poland, an increase in the number of hate crimes against citizens of Ukraine is recorded. In the first half of 2026, Ukrainians filed 180 applications with the police for such offenses, more than 30% higher than the figure for the same period last year.
This is reported by the Polsat News publication, citing data from the Main Commandant’s Office of the Polish Police.
It is noted that if the current trend continues, the number of recorded cases may reach a record 360 by the end of the year.
Among the recorded offenses are physical attacks, threats, insults, and other manifestations of hatred towards Ukrainians living in Poland.
Experts interviewed by Polish media associate the increase in the number of such crimes with the spread of aggressive rhetoric on the Internet, the activities of Russian disinformation, as well as the political exploitation of anti-migrant and anti-Ukrainian sentiments.
