The National Coalition Party of Finland has excluded candidate Johanna Turja from the regional election list for the province of Satakunta because she called Ukraine a part of Russia.
This was reported by the Finnish broadcaster Yle.
On Facebook, Turya wrote that Ukraine’s borders have allegedly never been confirmed, and the country has always been part of the Russian Federation. She left this comment on a post by a user who said that the war in Ukraine was allegedly started by the CIA. After the Finnish press contacted her for comment, she cleaned up her comments.

As a result, the candidate was withdrawn from the election due to a “lack of trust,” explained Antti Ahonen, head of the party’s regional office. The party had previously checked her background and social media but found nothing suspicious.
Turya herself declined to comment. Antti Ahonen emphasized that the National Coalition Party of Finland unconditionally supports Ukraine in the war.
