Former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson believes that “Trump has the strength and courage to save Ukraine and end this terrible war.”
He wrote about this in a column for the Daily Mail.
According to him, Donald Trump has already effectively become president, as he has already “shown Americans his courage and leadership” during the assassination attempt.
Johnson believes that despite what some other Republicans have said about Ukraine in the past, Trump understands that Ukraine’s defeat will be a defeat for the United States and will lead to the spread of the conflict, because “Putin will not stop there.”
The British politician believes that Trump will be able to end the war “on the right terms for Ukraine and the West.” He suggests that Trump could “cut through the bureaucratic red tape and stop delaying,” strengthen the Ukrainian army and remove all restrictions on Western weapons strikes on Russia. And then, when Putin is repelled, Trump will offer a peace deal.
According to the former British prime minister, Donald Trump will be able to force the Russians to withdraw to the borders that existed before the full-scale invasion in 2022, and Ukraine to join NATO.
Johnson also believes that in the future, Ukraine could replace the role of the United States in Europe, namely, to become the continent’s shield.
