Four years ago, on February 24, 2022, at about 3:40 a.m., the first column of Russian tanks entered the territory of the Luhansk region, and Ukrainians in many cities woke up to the attacks of the first enemy missiles.
The total combat losses of Russian troops in Ukraine from February 24, 2022, to February 24, 2026, are about 1,261,420 people.
The Defense Forces also destroyed 11,698 tanks, 24,086 armored combat vehicles, 37,560 artillery systems, 1,654 MLRS, 1,305 air defense systems, 435 aircraft, 348 helicopters, 145,571 operational-tactical UAVs, 4,347 cruise missiles, 29 ships/boats, 2 submarines, 79,826 vehicles and tankers, and 4,074 special equipment.
At the same time, as of February 14, 2026, about 7,000 Ukrainian servicemen were in Russian captivity.
According to the World Bank, over the four years of the full-scale invasion, Ukraine suffered direct losses of $195 billion. The total cost of reconstruction and recovery is almost $588 billion.
