The European Commission has announced a €116 million financial assistance package to support the education of Ukrainian children in Polish schools and to prepare them for further integration into the European labor market.
According to the European Commission, the new package is designed to integrate about 30,000 Ukrainian students into the Polish school system.
The €116 million aid will complement the €96 million from the European Social Fund Plus (ESF+) and the €20 million from the Polish government. This money is intended, among other things, to employ “multicultural” assistants, train teachers, and improve the psychological assistance system for Ukrainian children.
Poland ranks second in terms of the number of Ukrainians granted such temporary protection and hosts about a million Ukrainian refugees, second only to Germany.
