According to a UMass/YouGov poll published by The Guardian, American singer and philanthropist Dolly Parton has taken first place in the popularity rankings among the U.S. populace, surpassing leading politicians. Parton received a positive rating from 70% of respondents with only 5% giving negative feedback, providing her with a net popularity rating of 65%.
Second place in the rankings was claimed by former U.S. President Barack Obama, who received a net rating of 14%, with 50% of respondents viewing him positively and 36% negatively. Third place went to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, with a net rating of 12%, derived from 35% positive and 22% negative assessments.
Only Dolly Parton and Barack Obama were positively rated by at least half of the survey participants. Among other U.S. presidents, only George W. Bush had a positive net rating (5%), while Donald Trump and Joe Biden received -18% and -19% respectively. Singer Taylor Swift has a positive rating of 3%. The lowest recorded approval rating was for Russian President Vladimir Putin, standing at -65%.
