Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Unity Oleksiy Chernyshov and French Interior Minister Francois-Noël Buffet signed a declaration on establishing the Center for Ukrainian Unity in France.
It is noted that Chernyshov and Buffet participated in an intergovernmental meeting on the reception and integration of temporarily displaced Ukrainians.
“During the meeting, the parties reaffirmed their common desire to create a Ukrainian Unity Hub in France, consolidating this by signing a joint declaration,” the statement said.
In addition, the officials discussed the future of temporary protection and prospects for Ukrainians’ return home, mechanisms to support Ukrainians in France, including access to healthcare and education, and simplifying the procedure for recognizing Ukrainian driver’s licenses. The parties also focused on employment opportunities and social adaptation. Paris provided emergency humanitarian aid to Ukraine and organized reception centers for Ukrainians, which allowed thousands of citizens to find shelter there.
