Czech Republic launches pilot project for voluntary return of Ukrainians to their homeland

Ukrainian refugees who have been granted temporary protection in the Czech Republic and want to return to their homeland can now receive assistance from the state.

The Czech Ministry of the Interior has launched a pilot project of voluntary return, through which refugees will be paid for bus tickets, and the sick will be transported in an ambulance.

The pilot project will run from June to November.

The Czech Republic is ready to pay for tickets for up to 400 people and organize ambulance transportation for a maximum of 30 patients.

The concept of voluntary return was approved by the government in mid-May. Five and a half million crowns have been allocated for the program.

Refugees can take advantage of the paid voluntary return only once.
