On June 9, a baseball tournament will be held in New York City, where local Brooklyn Cyclones club players intend to demonstrate their strong support for Ukraine.
“For the third year in a row, the club has been holding a competition on the occasion of the Eastern Europe Day. This time, there will be a special tournament dedicated to Ukraine,” said Andriy Dobriansky, spokesperson for the Ukrainian Congress of America, who moderated the public awareness event.
According to him, the club has taken the initiative to use Ukrainian children’s creative potential: their drawings sent from Ukraine will be printed on the players’ uniforms.
At the briefing, the Honorary Ambassador of Kharkiv, singer Victoria Vennikova, presented an exhibition of drawings by Kharkiv children depicting a stork, which is currently suffering the most from Russian shelling.
