Goritsa Radeva spent most of her life in the theater, but the Russian invasion of Ukraine changed everything. Inspired by interviews with Azov soldiers, the actress became a journalist and settled in Odesa. Now, she is the only permanent correspondent for Bulgarian media in Ukraine. In this way, she seeks to combat Russian disinformation, including in her homeland.
Goritsa Radeva has lived and worked in different parts of Bulgaria. She was born in the old capital, Veliko Tarnovo. She graduated from the Theater College with a degree in acting in Sofia and worked on the Targovishte stage. After graduating with a master’s in stage management, she worked as a PR specialist at the Stara Zagora and Shumen theaters.
Now, the journalist experiences air raids daily with the people of Odesa. She periodically visits her family in Bulgaria, and in the spring, she plans to travel closer to the war zone – to the East.
However, art remains in her heart. Goritsa continues pursuing her marketing doctorate and plans to return to the more familiar theater field. But she promises to stay a journalist in Ukraine until the victory.
