The Belgian state-owned development finance institution (BIO) is investing $6 million in Ukrainian companies. The funds will be directed to the Rebuild Ukraine Fund (REBUF), a special fund managed by the investment company Dragon Capital.
This fund is the first to be created after the start of a full-scale war specifically for investing in businesses in Ukraine. The main goal is to help entrepreneurs secure the funds they need to continue operating, adapt to the conditions of the war, and expand their activities. In total, the fund plans to raise $250 million.
Both small and medium-sized enterprises and larger companies will be able to receive financing. The main focus will be on sectors that are critically important for the economy:
- healthcare and pharmaceuticals;
- construction materials production;
- agricultural sectors;
- consumer goods production;
- retail trade and technology.
