In 2022, Ukrainian Fashion Week celebrated its 25th anniversary. Several exciting events were planned for this occasion, including the February and September Fashion Weeks. Still, due to Russia’s full-scale war against Ukraine, the 51st season of UFW was threatened.
Then, the organizers of Ukrainian Fashion Week found a solution and launched an initiative called Support Ukrainian Fashion, whose main goal was to support local designers.
As a result, four International Seasons were held. However, the Ukrainian Fashion Week team decided to keep this season at home. September Fashion Week will be held in the Ukrainian capital from September 1 to 4.
Belgian Princess Isabella Orsini de Ligne de la Tremoyle and Ambassador Nelly De Vuyst decided to congratulate UFW on this important event. She wrote a detailed letter in which she emphasized the resilience and perseverance of the Ukrainian fashion industry:
“We are honored to celebrate the return of Ukrainian Fashion Week to its rightful home, Kyiv, for the first time since the beginning of the full-scale war. Although the last two and a half years have brought enormous challenges to Ukraine, it is important to emphasize the resilience and creative power of the industry, which continues to thrive.”
She also noted the talent of Ukrainian designers:
“Ukrainian designers not only support the development of the industry but also focus on global trends such as sustainable fashion, demonstrating a deep commitment to ethical practices and innovation. Fashion is more than just clothes; it is a language that transcends borders. Ukrainian Fashion Week SS’25 embraces these global trends, firmly positioning Ukraine on the international stage.”
