On Saturday, September 14, the occasion of the Day of Ukrainian Cinema, which was celebrated in Ukraine, Alan Badoev and other Ukrainian filmmakers received honorary awards from President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. This is stated in the relevant Decree of the Head of State.
In particular, director and producer Alan Badoev was awarded the Order of Merit III degree. Badoev received the award for his work on the documentary Long Day, which premiered earlier this year and has since been shown in more than 30 countries and even at the Olympic Games in Paris.
The Long Day is a documentary drama based on 200 hours of video footage shot by Ukrainians on their smartphones across the country at the beginning of the Russian full-scale invasion. It is a “time capsule” that shows the crimes of Russia through the eyes of Ukrainians and which the world should not forget.
The Order of Merit The Order of Merit of the III degree was also awarded to director Alisa Kovalenko, director of photography Yaroslav Pilunsky, producer Svyatoslav Ryzol, and theater, film, and dubbing actor Andriy Fedinchyk.
Cinematographer Serhiy Mykhalchuk was awarded the Order of Merit II class, and theater and film actress Irma Vitovska-Vantsa was awarded the Order of Princess Olga III class.
