A book by Ukrainian writer Kateryna Yehorushkina, “And Then Our House Became a Ship,” will be published in Finland.
Finnish translator and Drahoman Prize-2024 laureate Eero Balk is working on the translation of the book. It will be published by WSOY Publishing House, which will turn 148 this year.
In Ukraine, the book was published this year by the “Laboratory” Publishing House.
For three years, Yegorushkina collected testimonies of Ukrainians: children, teenagers, civilians, soldiers, people from the occupation and front-line territories. The book does not have one main character or a continuous plot. It consists of artistic reports, essays, and diary fragments.
