60 Stories of Ukrainian Women: Report on Sexual Crimes by Russians Presented in Warsaw

In Warsaw, the Lemkin Center presented a report on sexual crimes committed by Russians in Ukraine titled “Like it or not, endure it, my beauty – unpunished crimes. Sexual Violence by Russian Troops Against Ukrainian Women”.

The report, in Ukrainian and Polish, describes 60 stories of Ukrainian women whom Russians sexually abused in the occupied territories. This report was created to show Europe and the world that every European woman can find herself in this situation.

During the presentation of the report, Ukrainian activists Tatiana Tipakova from Berdiansk and Lyudmyla Huseynova from Novoazovsk shared their stories of being in occupation and torture. The report is illustrated with drawings by Ukrainian artist Serhiy Zakharov. The Lemkin Center has been collecting evidence of sexual crimes and violence by Russians in Ukraine since April 2022. The institution is based at the Piletsky Institute in Warsaw.
