United Arab Emirates wants to invest in Ukrainian drone manufacturers

The UAE launches the first “Month of Ukraine”

The United Arab Emirates may become a new investor in the Ukrainian defense sector. According to Bloomberg, Abu Dhabi is discussing the creation of a special investment instrument to finance defense companies in different countries around the world.

Ukrainian and Turkish drone manufacturers are among the potential recipients of investment. The new mechanism is expected to help the UAE diversify its sources of defense supplies and strengthen its own military capabilities.

Investments can be aimed at both expanding production and creating new production facilities. According to Bloomberg, Ukrainian companies are considered promising partners due to their practical experience in conducting modern warfare and the rapid development of unmanned systems technologies.

An additional factor is Ukraine’s existing cooperation with the Gulf countries in the defense sector, in particular in countering drones. This, according to the publication, also increases the interest of potential investors in Ukrainian developers.

At the same time, the project is still in its initial stage. The final structure of the investment fund, the amount of financing, and the implementation mechanism have not yet been approved. Still, the very emergence of such an initiative indicates the growing international attention to the Ukrainian defense-industrial complex.
