In the first half of 2025, Ukrainians concluded 4.39 million contracts with microfinance organizations (MFOs), which is 8% more than in the same period last year. This is evidenced by data from the National Bank of Ukraine, Opendatabot reports.
In the second quarter of 2025, 2.18 million microloans were issued. Although the number of loans remained unchanged compared to the previous quarter, the average loan amount increased by 9% to UAH 6,029. The total amount of microloans issued in the first half of the year reached UAH 26.44 billion.
Despite the growing demand for microloans, Ukrainians have become more responsible in repaying them. If, in the first quarter, the debt on microloans increased by UAH 3.38 billion, then in the second quarter, it increased by only UAH 0.94 billion. Total debt to MFIs currently amounts to UAH 24.29 billion.
