Ukrainians have become more active in using cards

The number of bankrupt people in Ukraine has almost doubled over the past four months

The National Bank of Ukraine has recorded a steady increase in the popularity of non-cash payments among Ukrainians over the first nine months of 2025. This was reported by the NBU press service.

In total, the number of transactions (non-cash and cash withdrawals) in Ukraine and abroad using payment cards issued by Ukrainian banks during the specified period amounted to 7,069.4 million, totaling UAH 5,217.6 billion.

Of these, 6,745.7 million transactions were non-cash, totaling UAH 3,414.2 billion – this is 11.7% and 9.9% more, respectively, compared to the same period in 2024.

An analysis of the distribution of non-cash transactions by type shows that the most significant number and amount of transactions using payment cards were made in retail and service networks – 74.4% and 50.7%, respectively.
