Ukrainian stocks and Eurobonds fall after Trump talks with Putin

Investing in Ukraine is proving lucrative despite the ongoing war

Ukrainian stocks on the Warsaw and London stock exchanges (WSE) are falling after significant gains on Monday and Tuesday following reports of US President Donald Trump’s conversation with Putin.

According to the WSE, as of 12:10 a.m. Kyiv time, shares of Agroton, an agricultural holding with land near the front, fell by 8.01%, Milkiland by 7.33%, Coal Energy, with mines shut down due to the war, by 7.30%, KSG-Agro by 4.62%, Astarta, the country’s largest sugar producer, by 2.29%, and Kernel, the world’s largest oil exporter, by 2.36%.

Only shares of IMC agricultural holding showed an increase of 4.17%.

On the London Stock Exchange, which does not have the same influence on retail investors as the WSE, the share price of MHP, Ukraine’s largest chicken producer, fell by 2.16% in the morning. In contrast, the shares of Ferrexpo, a mining company, dropped by 12.01% (although the company also released its annual report with increased losses and a notice of initiation of international arbitration with Ukraine over its 49% stake in Poltava Mining).

According to the Frankfurt Stock Exchange, quotes of Ukrainian sovereign Eurobonds fell by 1.3-2.6% on Wednesday, while GDP warrants fell by 0.25%.
