Ukrainian rower becomes world champion at Olympic distance

Ukrainian rower Iryna Fedoriv won gold at the World Youth Rowing Championships. She triumphed in the final of the C-1 discipline at a distance of 200 meters — the Olympic distance among women.

This was reported by the press service of the Ivano-Frankivsk Regional State Administration.

The competition was held in the Canadian city of Halifax. Iryna Fedoriv finished first with a result of 45.26. The rower outpaced rivals from Canada and Moldova and climbed to the top step of the podium.

This is Fedoriv’s third award at this year’s World Youth Championships. After two silver medals, the rower won gold.
