The name of young Ukrainian pole vaulter Omelyan Gerasymchuk has been increasingly heard in athletics circles since last year, despite his young age. According to the FLAU press service, the athlete has broken several world records in the U13 age category. He did it again at the Mladost International Meeting in Bulgaria.
13-year-old Omelyan jumped 4.40 m, which is now a world record among athletes of this age.
Earlier, in December 2025, Gerasymchuk set a world record with a result of 4.10 m.
