Ukrainian game Sand: Raiders of Sophie has been released in early access on Steam. Players can control adventurers from Galicia who explore the sandy planet Sofia, devastated by an ecological disaster.
Sand is a shooter in a dieselpunk world where players travel the planet in search of supplies, treasures, and valuable loot. Traveling through the sands is helped by tramplers – giant walkers that serve as transport, base, and combat vehicle.
The events of the game are set in an alternate version of the early 20th century, in which the space race was led by the Austro-Hungarian Empire. Players play the role of adventurers from Galicia who arrived on the planet Sofia after an ecological disaster.
At the start of early access, two modes are available, including:
- The “Voyage” mode allows you to calmly explore the world and collect resources without time limits;
- In the “Eye of the Storm” mode, conditions are stricter: the map gradually narrows due to a sandstorm, dangers increase, and rewards also increase.
During early access, the developers plan to expand and improve the game together with the community. On the day of release, the shooter is in the top 30 Steam games by the number of wishlists.
Sand has Ukrainian localization and is not available for sale in Russia. For Ukrainians, the game costs 315 hryvnias. The Sand shooter was created by the Ukrainian team Hologryph from Lviv together with the Kyiv studio TowerHaus. The shooter’s publisher is TinyBuild.
