The Ukrainian futsal team became the first at the World Cup among athletes with visual impairments. The final part of the world championship in the Turkish city of Antalya was attended by two of Europe’s best teams, Ukraine and England. Turkey represented Asia; Japan represented East Asia; and Oceania.
Results of the games of the Ukrainians at the preliminary stage of the World Cup:
- Ukraine – England – 2:2
- Ukraine – Turkey – 2:1
- Ukraine – Japan – 2:1.
In the match for the “gold,” the Ukrainian national team beat England 3:2. Vadym Shvets scored the winning goal.
In the match for the “bronze,” Turkey defeated Japan 4:0.
The best futsal player of the World Cup was Ukrainian Robert Tremba.
