The Ukrainian community in Ottawa took part in a meeting with Serhiy Prytula and the Director of the Unite with Ukraine charitable initiative, Andriy Potichnyi, as part of the tour of the Ukrainian World Congress and Serhiy Prytula’s Invincible When United charitable foundation. Over one hundred people attended the event at the Ukrainian Conference Hall of Ottawa.
During the meeting, the issue of financing the Armed Forces was discussed. Serhiy Prytula noted that only an aircraft carrier and its associated aircraft remained “unpurchased.” He added humorously that if they allowed him to buy an F-16, he could raise the funds in three days.
Participants of the event learned about the achievements of the Ukrainian volunteer movement and had the opportunity to ask questions. A charity auction of a “Brigade” calendar signed by Valeriy Zaluzhnyi, the former Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, was also held. The $1,000 raised from the auction will be donated to the Serhiy Prytula Foundation.
It should be noted that the UWC and the Serhiy Prytula Charitable Foundation are organizing a charity tour, “Invincible When United,” to raise funds to purchase armored vehicles for humanitarian demining. Meetings have been held in Toronto and Ottawa, and the next ones are scheduled for Montreal, New York, Philadelphia, and Chicago.
