Ukraine has successfully tested a ballistic missile of its own production for the first time.
This was announced by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy at a press conference.
Zelenskyy did not disclose any details about what kind of missile it was or about the test. However, he thanked the Ukrainian defense industry, which “works 24/7.”
Also on August 24, Ukraine used a domestic drone missile “Palianytsia” for the first time. At the time, the president said that the enemy had been defeated, without specifying where the weapon was used.
The Palyanytsia was developed in-house in just a year and a half to destroy Russia’s offensive potential. The Palyanytsia’s range includes 20 Russian military airfields. The drone missile will be launched from ground installations. It costs much less than its analogs, and work is underway to reduce its cost and increase production.
