The birth rate in Ukraine has plummeted to a historic low since the start of the full-scale invasion. It is only 0.9 children per woman, which is an anti-record for the country. First Deputy Minister of Social Policy Daria Marchak reported this.
According to her, due to a decline in the birth rate and a high level of migration, Ukraine is experiencing an aging nation. In a few years, the average age of Ukrainians has increased from 41 to 45.
The Deputy Minister said that Ukraine is rapidly aging, and this trend will likely continue. She noted that today, the ratio of pensioners to working people is 1:1, excluding those who receive social benefits. She warned that this ratio could deteriorate significantly in the future.
