UK to provide £55 million aid package to Ukraine

UK extends duty-free trade with Ukraine until 2029

The UK will provide Ukraine with a new aid package worth £55 million (about $68.2 million). The funds will be used for energy, business, and social support.

This was announced by the British government.

The aid will be divided into four main areas. Thus, £17 million will support the Ukrainian energy sector, and £3 million will supply grain and other food to Syria.

Another £10 million will be allocated to a new program to restore Ukraine’s economy, announced during the signing of the agreement on a 100-year partnership between the two countries. According to the British government, these funds will help renew, rebuild, and reform Ukraine’s economy for the future. They will support the private sector and the resilience of small and medium-sized businesses.

The balance of £25 million will be used to strengthen Ukraine’s social systems and services.
