U2 frontman Bono, together with Sean Penn and the Ukrainian military, presented the documentary Stories of Surrender at the Cannes Film Festival

Irish musician and U2 frontman Bono presented his documentary for Apple, Bono: Stories of Surrender. After the screening, the musician received a seven-minute ovation. It was reported by Variety.

The singer and co-founder of the Cultural Landing Force, Kolya Serga, posted a photo from the red carpet on his Instagram.

“In the name of love,” he wrote.

The Cultural Forces team at the Cannes Film Festival, in addition to the head of the Cultural Forces, Captain Mykola Serha, was joined by Taras Stolyar, a bandura player of the Cultural Forces and a UAV operator who took part in battles in Kharkiv and Donbas, Yuriy Ivaskevych, an opera singer and TRO fighter who lost his leg in battles on the Zaporizhzhia front, and Olha Rukavishnikova, a violinist, conductor, and scout, who was wounded five times in combat and lost an eye in May 2023; Valeriy Shyrokov, a mortar gunner in the TRO with combat experience and a press officer of the Cultural Forces; and Artem Poznansky, a soldier of the 59th Separate Brigade and a cameraman of the Cultural Forces.

Bono thanked the Armed Forces for defending Europe.

“You defend our freedom,” the musician said in Cannes.

The Ukrainian military delegation from the Cultural Forces is involved in several events at the Cannes Film Festival.
