Time magazine has published its list of the 100 most influential people globally. One Ukrainian is the head of the Presidential Office, Andriy Yermak.
Former NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen nominated his candidacy. In his column, he calls Yermak “a person who plays a central role” in ensuring the work of the Ukrainian government.
“In the aftermath of the full-scale invasion, he has carried Zelenskyy’s message to the world, building a strong network of friends of Ukraine from the West to the Global South, uniting them around issues ranging from sanctions to the environment. At a crucial moment for Ukraine and democracy, Andriy Yermak has not only emerged as a decisive leader but has proven that he is one,” Rasmussen said.
Yermak was included in the Leaders category along with Argentine President Javier Milei, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk, and Yulia, the widow of Russian politician Alexei Navalny. Navalnaya was put at the head of this category.
The Artists category was headed by Dua Lipa, a British singer of Kosovo origin, songwriter, designer, and model. The list also includes the star of “Westworld” Jeffrey Wright, and American writer and musician James McBride.
The prominent “Icon” is Taraji Penda Henson, an American actress, singer, writer and animal rights activist. Other “Icons” include singer Kylie Minogue, actor Michael Fox, director Sofia Coppola, and Japanese animation director Hayao Miyazaki.
