The Ukrainian IT industry provided foreign exchange inflows of $5.97 billion to the economy over the first 11 months of 2025. Despite slight growth compared to last year, the sector has not yet returned to the indicators of the pre-war period or the record year of 2022. This was reported by the Opendatabot platform on January 7, citing data from the National Bank of Ukraine.
In the incomplete year of 2025, the export of computer services brought the country 2.4% more foreign exchange than in the same period in 2024. However, analysts warn against excessive optimism: it is still too early to talk about the industry’s full-fledged flowering.
Current figures still lag behind historical highs:
- 3% less than in pre-war 2021;
- almost 10% less than in the peak of 2022, when the industry demonstrated phenomenal resilience at the beginning of a full-scale invasion.
In monetary terms, the average monthly revenue from IT exports is now $543 million. For comparison, in 2022, this figure reached $612 million per month.
Despite the slowdown in growth, the technology sector remains a critically important donor of foreign exchange for Ukraine.
