In Warsaw, the Kinoteka cinema hosted a screening of the historical epic Dovbush, created with the support of the Ukrainian State Film Agency.
The director of the Warsaw Film Festival “Ukraïna! Beata Beronska-Lyakh noted that the film was screened as part of Cinema Ukraina!, a new film festival project in cooperation with the Andrzej Wajda Center for Cinematic Arts. Its goal is to popularize Ukrainian cinema and support Ukrainian cultural figures who have problems finding employment in their specialty.
According to her, on April 25, the project began with a master class with film costume designer Halyna Otenko, who created costumes for all films directed by Oles Sanin, Agnieszka Holland’s Citizen Jones, and more.
She noted that Polish actors also play in the movie.
According to her, the Cinema Ukraina! project wants to include films not only about the war in Ukraine but about the country in general.
