Last year, more than 180 thousand children were born in Ukraine. The number of births decreased by almost a third compared to the previous year, possibly due to the events that preceded the full-scale invasion. There has been a general decline in the birth rate in Ukraine since 2013. The most pronounced decline was in 2023 in Kyiv, excluding the temporarily occupied territories and combat zones. However, the capital still remains the leader in the number of newborns.
