The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has unanimously voted to organize the first ever Olympic esports games. The first competitions will be held in 2025 in Saudi Arabia.

The IOC will immediately start working on the selection of the city and venue, choose the date, define the qualification process for players, and other details.
According to Thomas Bach, the Olympic Games in esports should attract the attention of the current “digital generation” to remain relevant to young people.
