On November 6, the film anthology “War Through the Eyes of Animals”, consisting of seven short stories from seven famous directors, based on real stories of the rescue of seven different animals, will be released in wide release in Ukraine.
A large team of Ukrainian and foreign artists worked on the project, including Oscar-winning actor and friend of Ukraine Sean Penn as the special guest star of one of the short stories. The soundtrack is the song “Burn Out” by the band Imagine Dragons, which has actively supported Ukrainians since the beginning of the full-scale invasion. Ukrainian artist Daniel Skrypnyk also joined the film team, who created the official poster.
The animal characters involved are: a cow, a rabbit, a wolf, a goat, a fish, an eagle, and a cat. The wolf was played by the dog Kai, a Czechoslovakian wolfhound, and the cow Milka played herself – she was the one who was wounded during the fighting in the Kyiv region in the spring of 2022.
