Rzeczpospolita reports that sales of apartments to foreigners in Poland set a new record of 17330 units in 2024, and Ukrainians were the main buyers.
Most foreigners bought housing in big cities: Warsaw (3,535 apartments), Krakow (1,523), and Wroclaw (1,491). In 2023, they accounted for about 6% of the market. Given the decline in total sales in 2024, the share of foreigners increased to over 10%.
Foreigners purchased the most housing in Warsaw, Wroclaw, and Krakow in terms of area. Statistics confirm that Warsaw is the most popular city among foreign buyers.
Ukrainians buy the most apartments. Other active buyers include Belarusians, Russians, Indians, British, and Vietnamese. The average apartment’s area is 58 square meters.
