Pope Francis, who died in April 2025, provided funding in his will to purchase ambulances for Ukraine. This was announced by Spanish nun Lucia Karam on a local radio channel.
Karam, who has visited Ukraine several times since the start of the full-scale invasion and has participated in humanitarian projects, noted that the pontiff personally supported medics in combat zones.
The funds from the papal fund will go to purchase ambulances for frontline and war-affected regions.
