Last year, 62% of Ukrainians encountered cyber and phone scams. Another third of users (30%) heard about such cases from others, as evidenced by a survey conducted by Rakuten Viber.
The answers to the question “Have you encountered cyber and phone fraudsters over the past year?” were distributed as follows:
- Yes – 62%;
- No, but I have heard about such cases from others – 30%;
- No, I have not even heard of such cases – 8%.
Ukrainians also asked whether they had become more aware of cybersecurity over the past year. The Viber team conducted a similar survey in January 2024.
39% of respondents are doing their best to learn more about cybersecurity – only 21% chose this answer last year. In addition, only 28% of Ukrainians are not interested in cybersecurity (while in January 2024, 50% of respondents were not interested in cybersecurity).
