According to UNICEF, more than a third of Ukrainian children – 2,589,900 – have been displaced by the war.
This includes over 791,000 children inside Ukraine and almost 1,798,900 children living as refugees outside the country.
Many children have been forced to leave their homes more than once. A recent UNICEF survey showed that among the displaced, one in three adolescents aged 15-19 had moved at least twice. The most common reason was danger.
Also, according to UNICEF, more than 3,200 children have been killed or injured as a result of bombing since February 24, 2022. Last year, the number of child casualties increased by 10% compared to 2024. This is the third consecutive year that the number of child casualties confirmed by the UN has increased.
