A significant increase in the volume of new housing construction is observed in Ukraine. In the first six months of 2025, the total area of residential buildings for which construction permits were issued increased by 45% compared to the same period in 2024 and reached 2.965 million square meters. Such data was published by the State Statistics Service of Ukraine.
The volume of construction of apartment buildings increased even more – by 45.8%, reaching 2.86 million square meters. The number of apartments declared at the start of construction increased by 51.5%, to 33 thousand.
In the capital, in the first half of 2025, the total area of new housing construction almost doubled (by 1.9 times) compared to last year. It amounted to 367.2 thousand sq. m (4.2 thousand apartments).
The State Statistics Service emphasizes that these indicators do not include data from temporarily occupied territories and areas where militancy is ongoing or has been taking place.
