Mykolaiv Olympic champion Olga Kharlan was nominated for the international WOMEN OF IMPACT award

Olga Harlan, a fencer from Mykolaiv, represents Ukraine among the contenders for the prestigious international women’s award WOMEN OF IMPACT. In particular, she is competing for recognition in the Sports Achievement category. This information was released by the press service of ELLE magazine, the initiator of the award.

Olga Harlan competes for first place in the sports category with Ukrainian tennis player Elina Svitolina and athlete Maryna Bekh-Romanchuk.

ELLE Ukraine celebrates strong and unbreakable women in a solemn moment, honoring influential personalities who dedicate their lives to socially important initiatives and, despite the difficulties, continue to prove that there are no insurmountable challenges for Ukrainian women. Voting for Ukrainian women will last until March 1 and is available on the award page.

As for the fencer herself, Olga Harlan, 32, is a recognized Ukrainian saber fencer. She became an Olympic champion in 2008 in the team competition and won silver in 2016 and two bronze medals in individual events (2012, 2016). Her achievements include six world championship titles (four in individual events, two in team events) and 15 medals at world championships. Harlan has also been a European champion six times in individual events and twice in team events. It is worth noting that she was impressed with her successful participation in the Fencing Grand Prix, winning silver in Orleans.
