Marta Kostyuk defeated the number one Italian racket and reached the Wimbledon semifinals for the first time

Ukrainian tennis player Marta Kostyuk reached the Wimbledon semifinals for the first time in her career. In the quarterfinal match, she defeated the number-one Italian racket and the 2024 vice-champion, Jasmine Paolini.

The match ended with the Ukrainian winning in two sets, 2:0 (6:3, 6:2). At the beginning of the first set, the players exchanged games. Still, after the score was 2:2, Kostyuk broke through and took the set. In the second set, the Ukrainian broke ahead (4:1) and left no chance for her opponent to make a comeback.

In the semifinals, Marta Kostyuk will meet Linda Noska from the Czech Republic. The final match will be held on July 9, no earlier than 15:00.
