The total losses of Ukraine’s agricultural sector due to military actions have reached approximately $11 billion. From this amount, no less than $6.5 billion is attributed to destroyed and damaged agricultural equipment, the devastation of logistics infrastructure, including grain storage facilities and elevators, and stolen or destroyed agricultural products. The situation in this sector of Ukraine worsened significantly at the end of 2025 and the beginning of 2026 due to intensified attacks by Russian drones on port and agricultural infrastructure. According to data from the Ministry of Economy, specialized agencies, and the Kyiv School of Economics (KSE), which jointly maintain a register of wartime losses, thousands of entities across the country have been destroyed.
Particularly severe damage has been inflicted on the port infrastructure in the Odesa region. Specifically, during the first months of 2026, the ports of Greater Odesa suffered over 180 attacks — practically as many as during the entire previous year. During peak periods, this led to a 20–30% decline in export capacity. However, overall, the port infrastructure demonstrates a high level of resilience, according to Taras Vysotskyi. He also noted that Ukraine continues to document all cases of economic damage to seek reparations and hold the aggressor state financially and legally accountable at the international level.
