The Kherson Regional Art Museum named after Oleksiy Shovkunenko took 24th place in the world ranking of the most active and influential cultural institutions according to the results of the MuseumWeek 2026 global festival.
The organizers of the initiative published a list of 83 institutions selected from more than 700 participants. The rating assesses institutions’ ability to mobilize an audience, disseminate cultural content, and engage the public in discussions about art.
The Kherson Art Museum improved its position compared to 2025, when it ranked 83rd.
The MuseumWeek international festival was founded in France in 2014 at the initiative of leading Parisian museums. The event, which has been supported by UNESCO since 2016, brings together galleries, libraries, archives, and museums from around the world. This year, it took place in early June under the main slogan “Intellect, Museums, the Future.”
