After the speech of Roman Schwarzman, a ghetto prisoner from Odesa, in the Bundestag, Germany plans to allocate an additional 3 billion euros of military aid to Ukraine! This was announced by the Vice Mayor of Odesa Pavlo Vugelman.
The man who survived starvation and torture during the Holocaust and is now suffering from Russian attacks calls on the world to protect Ukraine and its people. Roman Shvartsman, the head of the regional Association of Jews-former ghetto inmates from Odesa, addressed the German government with a call for more military aid during a speech in the Bundestag.
In his speech, he emphasized: “Odesa needs air defense to protect people and ports. We need airplanes to gain air superiority. We need more long-range missiles to paralyze the Russian airports and missile bases from which we are attacked daily. We need your support to free the people in the occupied territories. The world must stop being afraid! Ukraine will do everything to prevent the war from coming to you!”
The next day after Schwarzmann’s speech, the German budget committee called on Finance Minister Jörg Kukis to approve an additional 3 billion euros in military aid to Ukraine. The request was supported by the opposition conservatives from the Christian Democratic Union (CDU) and members of the Free Democratic Party.
