Germany donates old Ukrainian films to Dovzhenko Center

Today, the issue of preserving Ukrainian identity and history remains as relevant as ever. To help protect our heritage, the German Federal Archive has donated nine digitized Ukraine-related films to the Oleksandr Dovzhenko National Center.

Ukrainian and German film scholars and archivists participated in the identification and digitization of these films, which are now available through the Digital Reading Room.

The films selected were long and short animated films and documentaries. They were previously stored in the Federal Archive as unique contemporary copies. Some of them show the terror of Russians over Ukrainians and the brutality of the civil war.
