Estonia calls for Ukraine to be considered as a guarantor of Europe’s security

European Commission proposes to extend temporary protection for Ukrainians in the EU until 2026

Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna believes Europe should consider Ukraine a potential security guarantor due to its unique military experience.

The Foreign Minister stressed that Ukraine’s integration into the EU and NATO is a necessary condition for the security of the entire region.

Tsahkna noted that NATO is not only talking about how to provide security guarantees to Ukraine. However, in his opinion, EU countries actually need security guarantees from Ukraine. He explained that Ukraine itself has the largest, most effective, and most experienced military force in the region.
