The British documentary film “Hell Jumper,” produced by BBC Two and about the Russian-Ukrainian war, won an International Emmy Award in the documentary category. The BBC reports this.
The film centers on the story of 28-year-old British volunteer Chris Parry, who, together with his friends, went to Ukraine and joined a civilian group that helped evacuate people from the war zone and brought them humanitarian aid.
In early 2023, Chris Parry and his friend Andrew Bagshaw died while trying to evacuate a woman from an area of intense bombing in eastern Ukraine, in the Soledar area.
“Hell Jumper” was created by Expectation TV. The director is Paddy Whewell.
The film premiered at this year’s BAFTA ceremony. The film also received two awards at the Prix Italia 2025.
